Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 July 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Stutsmart ("the Service"), owned and operated by Joseph Adu-Parkoh ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using Stutsmart, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you are using Stutsmart on behalf of a school or institution, you represent that you have the authority to bind that institution to these Terms.

These Terms apply to all users — teachers, students, and any other persons accessing the Service — across Ghana and other African countries.

2. Description of Service

Stutsmart is an AI-powered educational platform providing tools for teachers and students in Ghana's Basic 1–9 education system under the GES NaCCA Common Core Programme. The Service includes:

  • AI-generated GES-aligned lesson plans and lesson notes for teachers
  • Curriculum-anchored question bank generation
  • Post-lesson debrief and remedial planning tools
  • End-of-term exam paper builder
  • Personalised AI study sessions for students
  • AI tutor chatbot with VARK learning style adaptation
  • BECE and WASSCE exam preparation tools

The Service is provided on a credit-based model. Users may purchase credits at any time.

3. Accounts and Registration

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent before registering. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3.2 Account Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. Providing false information — including misrepresenting your role as a teacher or student — may result in account suspension.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at support@stutsmart.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

3.4 One Account Per Person

Each person may maintain only one active Stutsmart account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent credit limits or other restrictions is prohibited and will result in all associated accounts being suspended.

4. Credits and Payments

4.1 Credit System

Stutsmart operates on a credit-based system. Credits are used to access AI-powered features:

  • Lesson plan + full lesson note: 10 credits
  • Question bank generation: 5 credits
  • Post-lesson debrief + AI analysis: 5 credits
  • Remedial lesson plan: 8 credits
  • End-of-term exam paper: 6 credits
  • Student guided study session: 3 credits
  • AI tutor chat message: 1 credit
  • VARK assessment: Free

Credit costs may change. We will notify users at least 14 days before any changes take effect.

4.2 Purchasing Credits

Credits may be purchased in packs via MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash, debit/credit card, or Hubtel. All prices are in Ghana Cedis (GHS). Transactions are processed by our payment partners and are subject to their terms.

4.3 Refund Policy

Credits are non-refundable once purchased, except in these circumstances:

  • A technical error on our part caused credits to be deducted without delivering the requested service
  • A duplicate charge occurred due to a payment processing error

To request a refund, contact support@stutsmart.app within 7 days of the transaction with your transaction details. We will review and respond within 5 business days.

4.4 Credit Expiry

Purchased credits do not expire as long as your account remains active. Credits are forfeited if your account is terminated for violation of these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Stutsmart only for lawful, educational purposes. You must not:

  • Use the Service to generate content that is harmful, offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate for an educational context
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate Stutsmart's AI prompts, algorithms, or proprietary systems
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent credit limits or other restrictions
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service or generate credits
  • Upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of publishers, authors, or other rights holders — including reproducing substantial portions of textbooks such as AKI-OLA or Golden Series
  • Upload student work screenshots without appropriate consent as required by your school's data protection policies
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its performance
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data

Violation of these provisions may result in immediate account suspension without refund of remaining credits.

6. AI-Generated Content

6.1 Nature of AI Output

Stutsmart uses AI models to generate lesson plans, lesson notes, questions, study sessions, and recommendations. While we work to ensure accuracy and GES alignment, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or content that requires professional review.

Teachers are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated lesson plans and materials before use in the classroom. AI output should supplement — not replace — professional teaching judgement.

6.2 Ownership of Generated Content

Content you generate through Stutsmart using your inputs and credits belongs to you. You may use, print, share, and adapt it freely for your educational purposes.

You grant Stutsmart a non-exclusive licence to store and display your generated content within the platform for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

6.3 Curriculum Content

GES curriculum content referenced or used by Stutsmart is the intellectual property of the Ghana Education Service and NaCCA. Stutsmart uses this content solely to deliver educational services in alignment with Ghana's official curriculum framework.

7. Intellectual Property

The Stutsmart platform, including its name, logo, design, software, features, and all non-curriculum content, is owned by Joseph Adu-Parkoh and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Stutsmart platform without our express written permission.

Feedback, suggestions, or ideas you submit about Stutsmart may be used by us to improve the Service without any obligation to you.

8. Availability and Service Changes

We aim to keep Stutsmart available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time. Where a change significantly affects paid features, we will provide reasonable notice and, where appropriate, credit compensation.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

9.1 No Warranty

Stutsmart is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.

9.2 Educational Responsibility

Stutsmart is a tool to assist teachers and students. We are not responsible for educational outcomes, exam results, or decisions made based on AI-generated content. Professional teaching judgement must always be applied.

9.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Joseph Adu-Parkoh and Stutsmart shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, loss of credits, or educational outcomes.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid for credits in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms. In cases of serious violation, remaining credits will be forfeited without refund.

We will provide reasonable notice before terminating accounts for non-violation reasons, such as discontinuation of the Service.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Stutsmart shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith communication.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email and display a notice within the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of Stutsmart after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
